SyncToy is a powerful and Simple tool to keep in sync of your folder. SyncToy is part of Microsoft PowerToys. It is very very useful and is available for free.
SyncToy 1.4 Works on Windows Vista as well. You can select the configuration of folder sync.
This tool might be very useful for those who are working in different computers and want to keep their data in sync always. For myself i want to keep my documents, my photes and all my development materials in sync between my computers. I do it easily with Synctoy. I use an external HardDisk and SyncFiles from my external HDD and Desktop. This serves me two purpose 1. Keey sync of folders so that i can transfer to any other pc of my choice. 2. Additional BackUp of your data. Certainly this very very useful tool and for me it has become very essential for daily routine.
First step is to create the folder Pair. Source and Target.
Then Click on Preview to Preview before you Sync. You can also directly sync without preview. The image below runs during Preview/ Run
After Preview it shows the result
Then we should click on run to sync. Incase of direct run, it doesnot prompt this window but runs directly.

There are other tools available such as Allway Sync which is also very good. On the otherhand it has limitations for number of files usage and also a bit slow.
SyncToy 1.4 works perfectly well with windows vista.
What I dont like is that the UserInterface is having same boring old look. It looks ugly on windows vista.
