Tamil Fonts - தமிழ் அச்சுக்கோப்பு

This post is meant for Tamil Readers.. There are quiet a number of Tamil Sites. Each tamil news papers have their websites and each websites are build with their own fonts. So you got to download the font and install. There is no single standard followed. This situation can be minimized when you use unicode fonts. There are numerous unicode fonts available. Further most operating systems supports unicode and most common operating system , Windows XP/2000 natively supports unicode. How ever when you want to compose you might need to install additional languages and options. The Default unicode font the comes along with Windows XP is Latha . The title of this post also contains the same font. When you are printing or when you want to design then you might consider using different styles of unicode fonts. Installing Language Support for Windows XP/2000

How to install Tamil Language support to windows XP / 2000. Requirements . 1. Windows XP / 2000 installed PC 2. Minimum of 200MB Hard disk space to install fonts and scripts. 3. Windows XP installation CD. Steps 1. Go to Control Panel 2. Go to Date Time , Language options Category View Select Regional and Language Options Classic View Go to Regional Languages --> Languages Tab -->       Tick on Install Complex scripts (option 1) and Install files for east Asian languages (option 2). It will require you to insert Windows XP Installation CD. After installing it will ask for a reboot. Reboot the Machine and again go to control panel, regional settings and languages options.
