These days playing media on a computer system is very common. Now a days many people are using computer as a main Media Center and for me it has always been. I always like to any movie VCD or DVD or Other media on my computer system. Now with my Computer LCD Screen is of 22" Size (21" of My TV) I rather avoid watching TV. In future even if I buy a bigger size LCD TV such as 37" I can provide an input to the new TV viz my HDMI port in my computer system or By TV-Out of my Computer System. The reason to use computer system for playback is 1. Easy to use 2. Full Control 3. Can Play anything (almost all video formats).
With the widening media formats, some devices support one type of format, others the other one.
Now coming to the topic, I have been using Winamp earlier to play mp3 Songs, after which I totally switched to Windows Media Player from Version 8 onwards. I found that Windows Media Player was stable and produces good output. Plus the good support of Library, I just did not think of other players. I would definitely say still Winamp is also a good media player but my preference has changed.
The problem with Windows Media Player is the lack of Customization, or Very less Feature support. It will play media for sure, but wont play all. Then I came across KM Player. This is a kind of player I was expecting for. This player is made on basis of Winamp with lots of additional features. This page would get filled up if just mention each features. Here is the context menu.
You can select the Rendering Mode depending upon the system. I have tested with HD Video as well, which plays quiet well but 1080p has some jaggies. Any way it is being constantly updated and hence all bugs can be reported, hope the team will fix.
When Pressed Tab it displays the stream information, Video Stream Codec, Current Bit Rate, Frame Width and Height, and Everything.
When Pressed ALT + J it Displays All the information about the Video/Audio.
